As a fine arts photographer, I consider myself more of a painter. My style mirrors the feel of historic paintings, such as the romantic images of the Rococo period, the ornateness of the Baroque, or the virtuousness of the Renaissance, and even the precision of the Dutch masters. Unlike the painters from our cultural past, I paint with light instead of oils. Often there is a darkness in my work that is pierced by light, bringing life to my subjects.
I like to feel like I am telling a story to all my viewers, with each of my images, creating a link with history, lore, and even fairy tales. I love the thought that I can bring to life the stories and myths that have been passed down from one generation to the next.
My images are unapologetic, they can frighten or enlighten, they can possess joy or sorrow. Emotions can run very raw in my work, but they will always be respectful to my subjects, my viewers, and to the world as a whole.
Enjoy what I offer, take a trip into the past, and into the imaginings of humanity from the humble beginnings of our written history.
